How long does it take to complete a project with Arivo?

You need to plan 8-12 weeks from ordering to commissioning - depending on the current order situation or project size, it can take longer.

The installation of hardware and on-site commissioning typically takes 2-3 days, depending on whether an existing system needs to be decommissioned first. 

A significant amount of time is spent on planning, organising and preparing, which is essential for a smooth process. 

As a car park operator, you also play a key role in this process. Your preparations include:

  • Ensuring the construction-related services, such as correct piping and cabling.

Enforcement

For whom is the Arivo Enforcement suitable?

Arivo Enforcement is ideal for operators of barrier-less parking areas who want to secure their revenue without dedicating resources to tracking unpaid parking sessions or managing parking violations. 

We handle the collection of unpaid parking fees for you, including automated owner data queries, dunning processes and customer service. This means 100% of the parking fees collected go directly to you as the operator - without any additional effort on your end. 

This service can be flexibly (de-)activated in the software at any time. The only requirement is that an Arivo system is installed in the respective parking area.

How much are the parking violation fees at Arivo Enforcement?

The amount of the penalty fee for parking violations varies by country:

  • In Austria, the fees are € 42,00 gross.
  • In Germany, the fees are € 35,00 gross.

These fees are charged once per parking violation and not, as with other providers, once per day (for parking durations > 24 hours).

The parking violation fees are set as low as possible and as high as necessary. They cover the costs incurred by Arivo for tracking and collection, including:

  • Costs for owner data queries
  • Postage & shipping costs
  • Personnel costs for customer service
  • Processing fees for unpaid parking fees
  • Processing fees for cancelled cases
How many dunning stages does the Arivo Enforcement include?

At Arivo Enforcement there are 3 payment reminders and dunning letters sent before a case is handed over to debt collection.

These include:

  • 1st letter: payment reminder 
  • 2nd letter: dunning letter
  • 3rd letter: last dunning letter before handing over to debt collection

Does Arivo offer cash machines? And do they provide change?

Yes, the Arivo Cash Terminal allows payment via debit or credit card, mobile payment (such as Apple Pay or Google Pay) or cash.

Do parking customers receive a payment receipt at Arivo Systems?

Yes. Parking customers receive a digital receipt from our system. 

After payment at the payment terminal, the receipt can be retrieved, saved, and forwarded if needed by scanning a QR code or online upon button click.

Arivo does not provide printed receipts. This means operators do not need to purchase or refill receipt paper and benefit from lower maintenance costs for payment terminals, as there are no moving parts for issuing receipts that are prone to failure.

License Plate Recognition

How does Arivo's License Plate Recognition work?

Arivo's License Plate Recognition automatically captures the license plate at both the entry and the exit, allowing our system to calculate the exact parking duration and corresponding fees. 

At the entrance, the license plate is scanned between 50 and 200 times from up to 40 meters away. The licence plate number is determined from these individual results in just a few milliseconds. 

Single misreads caused by reflections, shadows, obstructions, or unfavourable angles have no impact on the accuracy of recognition.

What is Arivo's detection rate?

Our license plate recognition achieves a detection rate of over 99,5%, even under challenging conditions such as dirt from snow or mud, or at speeds of up to 70 km/h.

What should I consider when introducing license plate recognition?

Clear signage for licence plate recognition is mandatory.

It must be clearly visible at the entrance that license plates are being read and processed.  Additionally, the terms and conditions for parking must be displayed directly at the entrance.

Who owns the data and where is it processed?

Arivo acts as a commissioned data processor. The processed data belongs to our customers or the respective car park operators.

In order for us to process the data collected from parking areas equipped with the Arivo System, it is necessary to conclude a data processing agreement (DPA) by Art. 28 GDPR.
