APCOA PARKING and ARIVO have teamed up to revolutionize parking: Since March 2019, Arivo‘s cutting-edge parking system has been seamlessly operating at Graz Airport, allowing hassle-free pre-booking of parking spots. This has led to substantial reductions in arrival and departure times, putting an end to the frustrating process of dealing with parking tickets once and for all.
Graz Airport is located 9 km south of Graz city centre and is highly frequented with its 17-lane parking area. In order to simplify the arrival and departure of passengers at the airport and to save time, a digital parking solution was needed.
Digital licence plate recognition
Due to the flexibility of the system, the choice finally fell on the licence plate recognition-based digital parking system by Arivo in cooperation with APCOA, Europe‘s largest parking space management company.
This allows for access and exit to the parking lot within the booked time period without having to purchase another ticket.
The barriers open automatically, and the license plate is reliably and instantly recognized.
Regular customers can register themselves on an online platform in order to process future bookings even faster. A connection to a booking platform for reserving rental cars is provided as well.
More than 400.000 vehicles per year
A frequency of over half a million passengers per year means that vehicles are detected more than 400,000 times by automatic licence plate recognition.
Following the successful roll-out at Graz Airport, 35 further projects have now been implemented for APCOA in Vienna, Graz and Klagenfurt.
