Situated in the heart of Stuttgart, the Steinstraße parking garage enjoys a prime location with consistently high demand. It serves three main user groups: short-term parkers, long-term parkers, and permanent users with reserved parking rights managed administratively. In partnership with Arivo, the facility has been fully digitised. The new ticketless and cashless system now ensures reliable, low-maintenance operations and delivers a smooth, user-friendly experience.
Less Maintenance, more Efficiency: Why Park Service Hüfner Chose to Go Digital
Before the upgrade, the Steinstraße parking garage relied on a coin-operated system that was more than 20 years old—an outdated setup that no longer met the needs of modern parking operations. Spare parts were hard to come by, the technology was unreliable, and maintenance was time-consuming. Staff had to manually refill the coin dispensers every day just to keep the system running.

In a coin-based parking system, parkers receive a physical token upon entry. At the end of their stay, they insert the token into a payment machine to complete the transaction. To keep the system running smoothly, operators must regularly empty and refill the tokens by hand.

Just a few months in, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Staff appreciate the system’s intuitive design and the smooth, straightforward communication with Arivo’s customer support team. Parkers are also highly satisfied, enjoying a modern, seamless parking experience. The fully cashless setup adds even more convenience—for example, payments can be made easily right at the exit terminal.
