More parking spaces for customers through automatic license plate recognition
The Q19 shopping center in Vienna Döbling now offers its customers an improved shopping experience through more control over parking lot usage
The Q19 shopping district in Döbling, operated by the SES Spar European Shopping Centers, appeals to a broad but demanding public. With 40 international shops and 3000 to 4000 parking activities daily, there is always a lot going on.
In order to keep the 610 parking lots free for customers in the best possible way, the Q19 has now been using Arivo’s automatic license plate recognition system since July. The shopping centre, which was nominated for the State Prize for Architecture 2006, is not only a visual highlight, but now also has the most modern way of using the parking space.
The industry-leading Arivo license plate recognition was installed for all lanes, 2 entrances and 4 exits. With 25 reads per second, the system is particularly fast and, with a recognition rate of over 99% in the live test, particularly reliable. By using the latest technology and deep learning algorithms, license plate recognition is not only innovative, but also fit for the future.
"With Arivo's automatic and reliable license plate recognition, we were able to solve a big problem: A repeated drive-in after 2 hours of free parking in order to avoid the chargeable short parking zone is no longer possible. The parking spaces are still fully available for our customers. An additional valuable benefit of the system is the statistical analysis through which we can see where our visitors come from and how heavily the shopping center is frequented at what times. The evaluation is, of course, anonymous and in compliance with data protection regulations."

Shopping centers such as the Q19 are an optimal application for the digital parking system with automatic license plate recognition.
